Set-aside program

Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB)

A subset of the WOSB program for women-owned firms whose owners meet SBA economic disadvantage tests, with set-asides in additional industries.

An economically disadvantaged women-owned small business (EDWOSB) meets all WOSB requirements and is also owned and controlled by women who are economically disadvantaged under SBA's rules. EDWOSBs can compete for both EDWOSB and WOSB set-asides.

Who qualifies

  • Meets all WOSB requirements.
  • The women owners meet SBA's economic disadvantage limits on personal net worth, adjusted gross income and total assets, set in 13 CFR 127.203.

Eligible industries

EDWOSB set-asides are available in NAICS codes where SBA has found women-owned small businesses substantially underrepresented. Check the current list on SBA's program page.

Certification

As with WOSB, certification is required, through MySBA Certifications or an SBA-approved third-party certifier.
